Setting up Service Centre Users

Running time: 2 minutes 6 seconds

*Please note – not all users will have access to set up Service Centre users on 1link.

Account types

There are two types of access to your Service Centre, a Supplier account for account management, and a Service Centre user for day-to-day functionality like managing bookings and jobsheets.

Adding Service Centre users

To manage the access of service centre users, on the home screen, select user administration. If the text is grey and you cannot select this option, you are not a system manager and therefore do not have permission to access user administration.

Once selected you are presented with 3 options:

  • User account maintenance for managing your user’s access, permissions, and passwords
  • User details and permissions report to see which permissions your users have, which is downloadable in Excel
  • User housekeeping routine to see any users who have not logged into the system within the last 6 months and giving you the option to suspend their access.

To create a new user, select user account maintenance and select add a new user.

User record

In the user record, you need to populate:

  • The full name
  • Select if they are a system manager user – who can access user administration and service centre information where you can amend your core site details
  • Whether this user should be active, and able to log into the system, or suspended – to stop their access
  • You then need to enter their contact details
  • And then enter their password
  • You can see the system has generated a login name

Select save changes to create a user, or permissions to customise what this user can access. Users can be deleted at the foot of the user record.

There is no additional costs to add users, and sharing user access can confuse booking or jobsheet audit trails, so please regularly review and update your user access.
